Grand Metropolitan Ballroom
This elegant ballroom is ideal for business meetings, receptions and group functions, accommodating up to 1,000 guests. The impressive space features an adaptable color palate, versatile lighting and sound, along with 12-foot ceilings. Grand Metropolitan Ballroom is divisible by 12, with each section named in honor of famous United States theatres – Ambassador, Apollo, Chicago, Fox, Orpheum, Palace, Paradise, Regal, Roxy, State, Uptown and Majestic. The 12 sections are showcased in artwork surrounding the ballroom and offer a nod to our famed Star Plaza Theatre’s reputation as one of the country’s great venues.
Two sophisticated adjoining pre-function areas make a lasting impression with natural lighting, two built-in bars, a grand piano, plush seating areas and modern light fixtures.
This one-of-a-kind ballroom offers groups a tremendous amount of flexibility when planning events near Chicago. The room can be divided into three distinct areas. Each room can then be used separately for business groups of 700 and under, or as one large room for meetings of up to 1,000 guests. Convenient and versatile features include two dock doors, air walls and direct outside entry, while awe-inspiring 24-foot ceilings and eight spectacular crystal chandeliers ensure a strikingly unforgettable event.
